I have no good title

So basically today sucked. I was supposed to work from 7:30-1:30. Well when I woke up it was 8:56. Although, somehow I managed to clock in by 9:29 so therefore I only get 1/2 a point rather than a whole point so I guess that is a bright spot. Then of course I had to have the parents from Hell. Well they weren't really all that bad to me, but rather towards their daughter. First off they had two kids a son and a daughter. The son's name was Denise (Pronounced Dennis) and their daughter's name was Theodora. I mean really. Terrible names. I gave Denise a cool dude, which the mom promptly wiped out of his hair saying loudly "I don't know why they think that looks good." But really she paid for it so it doesn't matter. Then the mom wouldn't let her get the hairstyle she wanted. Then the daughter also couldn't get the pixie dust or wear the sash and we also couldn't do the final reveal. I mean really what was the point of coming in? It was just stupid and I felt bad for the little girl.

So after I worked my quick shift, I went back to the apartment and changed clothes and headed to Mickey's Retreat. I laid out for a while. It was lovely considering it was one of the first times I have been able to do that. I finally have some color! When I got back to the apartment, I watched Aladdin. Jess came home and we tried to go to the UPS store, but don't you know that they close on 5 on saturdays. I was shocked to find out that it was Saturday - it felt more like a Thursday. So then we came back and just hung out. I went up to Ebonee's apartment when she got off and we decided to go to Downtown Disney and try and find Bobby, but we had no luck. We then went to Steak and Shake for some food. We had the weirdest waiter named John. He was a creeper haha. There was also this weird woman who kept staring at us. Just as we were about to leave, Matt and some of his friends walked in. So we ended up staying longer and chatting with all of them. We made plans to meet for breakfast and then go to the opening of MK. We'll see if that actually happens. We came back and watched Aladdin again. All and all I think it was a hectic but good day!

Do You Know What Castles Have? Dungeons!

2.23

I opened up the boutique and it was nothing out of the ordinary. Although, we did have a little sister of a princess who would not sit still. She kept running around and the mom was about to kill her. It really wasn't an issue because we had just opened and we were not full. The funniest thing was when the little girl ran behind the mirrors the mom said "Do you know what castles have? Dungeons! And that is where you are going to go!" haha. That got the little girl out pretty quick.
After work I went with Jess and Lindsay to MK to play. We had to go see our good friends Peter and Rafiki. I finally broke down and bought an autograph book. Peter and Wendy were the first ones to sign it. When we were standing in line to meet Peter we got yelled at by this woman who put her kids in matching sweaters about where the line started. But then we made friends with the people in front of us. She even took our picture to send to her husband in Iraq. She loved us.
We then ran over to see Rafiki. When he saw us he started jumping up and down and blowing us kisses. It was so exciting! We left Rafiki and ran by the boutique before making our way to Main Street for the Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Block Party. It is the best thing ever. We stood by the VIP float area. When the characters were dancing Goofy came over and kissed Lindsay and then we started dancing in the streets and shaking our tail feathers. That parade is my favorite. We hung out in front of the castle to wait on Kristy and Angelica to show up. Matt also came out and chatted with us for a little while. We stood there talking about what we were going to do for a while and then finally decided to go get food.
We picked up Fifi at the apartment and had a family outing with all 6 of us to Chilis. It was so good. Lindsay and Kristy took advantage of the 2 for 1 drink special. It was really nice to finally have everyone together for a dinner.

2.24
I worked from 8-2. I really like that shift because I feel like I haven't wasted a day. Ebonee had to work at 2 so when I got off, Brian and I went to Century Costumes to pick up Mardi Gras masks for the both of us for the FGIT masquerade. The costume shop was amazing! They had everything you could think of! After picking out some fun masks, we headed to Party City to pick up some beads. Then I ran a couple more errands and then headed back to Patterson. I started getting ready and then went over to Ebonee's apartment. We then headed out to Alex and Nora's house.
We finally found it. There was a decent amount of people there. It was a lot of fun though. There was dancing and having fun. Even Captain Jack Sparrow was there. Alex and Nora are great hosts. The only down side was Ebonee was attacked my a gay man on the floor. It was probably one of the funniest things of the night. We left the party and headed to Ale House for Lisa's, another FGIT, going away party. I ran into Danielle, Ashley, Alexis and Brandon there so that was fun. Then we all headed home and crashed.

2.25
I had a long day at work. I started at 9:30 and got off at 8. It seemed to go by pretty quickly though. I find that you can usually do about 2-3 princesses an hour and that is a good way to make the time pass. I was also able to get an ER about an hour early so that was exciting. I went home and met up with Alexis, Danielle, and Brandon. We were supposed to have a fort party, but we decided to go play putt putt first. Then we even made a stop at TGI Fridays to get a drink because Alexis and Danielle knew the bartender or something.
We finally made it to the Fantasia Gardens course. It was really neat and all themed from Fantasia. It was an interesting game. We all started out pretty well, but then Danielle roommates showed up and after that only really me and Brandon were taking it seriously. By the end of the night, someone had gone swimming to get there ball, Alexis had ripped her jeans, and another girl missed her ball then stepped on it and twisted her ankle. All in all I think was a successful trip. I ended up playing 6 under with 4 hole in ones! But somehow Brandon still beat me by 6! So mad! I still think he cheated haha.
We came back and the fort party kind of fell apart. Danielle went over to her BFs and then Alexis bailed because she didn't want to be 3rd wheel to me and Brandon. It could have been fun though. I am sure it will be done again though.

2.26
I woke up and jumped in the shower and then went with Brandon and Alexis to lunch at the Chinese Buffet. It was so good. They even have ice cream for dessert! Anyway, then they dropped me off at work. Work was interesting. I was put on podium for the first time since training. I LOVED it! I wish I could work every podium shift. It is where I am checking people in and building castles and making sure things fit and walking princesses to their chairs. It was crazy at one point we were running a 40 minute wait, but then in about 30 minutes we were 10 minutes ahead.
I had one little girl who came in and her name was Lauren Gkajsdhweif. I can't remember her last name - it was something crazy that started with a G. She became attached to my hip. It was cute but a little annoying. She kept asking me all these questions. I totally had her going that I was 180 years old, but I just age really slowly. She ended up getting a pop princess done by Ebonee and she said she was a little brat. When she left her mom literally had to drag her out of the door.
Then our last princesses were leaving and it was a group of 3, but one of the little girls had gotten scared and ended up not getting her hair done. When I let them out of the door, she turned around and ran towards me and jumped into my arms. It was the cutest thing. The mom just smiled. I was so caught off guard but it made my day.
Brandon picked me up and we went to the ice rink so he could get his skates sharpened. Before that we watched the beginning of Wishes from the Cast Parking lot. It was kind of crazy. It is so much louder there. Car alarms were going off around us. Then we put on Celebrate you and it was almost timed up perfectly so that was pretty funny. We made it to the ice rink and that place is freaking huge. It was pretty neat though. Then we drove to UCF and had some Pita Pit, which was amazing. Bob drove over and said HI. I was super excited to see him. But then we said goodbye and he went back to study for a test and we headed back to Patterson.

2.27
I had the day off today. I got up and went with Brandon to the hockey rink to watch him play for a bit. That was pretty interesting to watch. They only had one goalie so one end had this little blue tarp thing over it that had some strategically placed holes that they could score on.
Afterward, we ran by Publix and did some grocery shopping. Then we headed back and made some spaghetti. Then I wanted a rematch with Brandon on putt putt and we went and played on Winter Summerland or something like that. I started out so well. I was winning, but then one stupid hole led to my downfall. I ended up losing by 8. I will beat him at some point.
Afterward, we just hung out at his place. He got a new roommate today named Logan who seems like a pretty nice guy. We just hung out and it was an early night because I have to be at work at 7;30 in the morning :(

Dancing In the Street

2.20 Hoodie Hoo Day!

I got up early and went to the park before work. I ran some errands before hand that took a lot less time then I thought they would. So i just strolled around MK. Once I actually got to work, it was a pretty normal day. Ebonee and I have become partners in crime. I wish we could work together all the time. We always buddy and it seems to work out and the time passes really quickly. Plus, princesses (or at least those that speak english) love us. The highlight was this family from Nova Scotia. They had a son and a daughter. Ebonee was able to talk the boy into getting a cool dude and he loved it! The little girl was so cute too. It seemed like they never stopped talking. Of course we had to pull out our HSM moves. Later that night, right before we closed a princess begged me to let her try on the Cinderella slippers. I mean BEGGED! According to her mother, she is obsessed with shoes. I basically had to pin her down to get the shoes back. But I was able to teach her and her cousin the princess wave and curtsey.
After work I decided it was time to break down and actually do laundry - considering I haven't done laundry since I have been here. I never realized I had that many clothes! But I took up 4 washers and two dryers...yeah. So the laundry machines are weird. We have to buy this card and then put money on it because it is a $1 to wash and $1 to dry. We I couldn't figure out how the heck to get the stupid machines to work. I had to call Ebonee and she came to my rescue. So I just spent the night watching The Rescuers Down Under and folding clothes. I realized that I don't mind folding clothes, it's the actual putting them away part that I dislike.

2.21
I had to be at work at 7:30. I woke up at 6:50 - not good. Some how I made it to work with 9 minutes to spare. How? I have no idea, but I will take it. Today seemed to be the curse of the Fairy Tale with short hair. I had so many princesses with NO hair! So they really didn't look that great, but the parents were happy. I did have a little girl from Panama with the most gorgeous hair. It came out as an almost perfect Fairy Tale. I was pumped. But then things kind of took a turn for the worst. This little girl started crying half way through the hair do. I was able to finish the Fairy Tale, but she wouldn't let me pixie dust or put the mickey clip in. She freaked out. She ran out of the chair with the cape and everything still on. But the ending Princess was awesome. They were from Memphis and I finally got to do something besides a Fairy Tale.
I ran and changed clothes and then met Ebonee and Alex above ground. We ran to Adventureland to meet with Peter Pan. I was so excited! We had to hide from him so he wouldn't see us while we were standing in line. We finally got to meet him and he said he would teach me to fly later on haha. We then ran back to Main Street and tried to meet Pluto, but the line was too long. Although we were disappointed about Pluto, Ebonee and I were able to entertain ourselves. We saw a cast member working PAC (Parade audience control) with a present shaped stereo just dancing. Their job is to entertain little kids while they are waiting on the parade to start. Well this poor kid was super awkward and just dancing by himself. So of course Ebonee and I jumped in. We did a 2 song show. First, to All for One from HSM 2 and then ended with Celebrate You. We were pretty awesome. This Mom even tried to get her little boy to take a picture with us, but he ran away crying haha. Yeah we have that affect on people. We were sweating so bad by the time we were done.
We then went back underground and had lunch with Matt and Brenna, who had just got done being friends with Peter Pan and Pluto. We stayed with them while they ate lunch. Then I met Brandon before his shift started. We walked down to Main Street for a bit and he showed me where Lady and the Tramp's paw prints are outside of Tony's Restaurant. Then I met back up with Ebonee and we did some shopping.
We left MK and then went over to Hollywood Studios, where we continued to shop. Some how I lost $40. When I went back to the store they had found it and had turned it in to Lost and Found and I was able to get it back! Yay! That would have been a total downer if I hadn't been able to get it back. We left there and went to Downtown Disney. We went in the first store and Ebonee really wanted this HSM 3 poster so I asked the guy working what they did with the promo posters when they are done. He didn't know and the manager wasn't there. His name was Brandon and we ended up chatting with him and his co-worker Keely for a while. It turns out that Brandon knew a WKU football player and then Keely was a Alpha Gam at Murray. After Ebonee harassed all of them for pins, we left. Only to have Brandon tell us that the Jasmine pin Ebonee traded for was not an actual Disney Trading Pin and she was pissed. haha. We then walked around Downtown Disney and went to the World of Disney. It is crazy how much stuff is there. I gave myself a little tour of the BBB down there. Ours is way cooler. Ebonee harassed some more people about pins and then we left.
On our way out we saw this board up for trading pins so of course Ebonee stopped. And low and behold guess who was there....Brandon. The kid is everywhere. Ebonee and he flirted for a little while then this little girl came up and looked at the pins. I noticed that she had a Fairy Godmother pin. We got so excited and asked her where she got it. She said she had two and gave one to Ebonee ever though she didn't have one to give her!! Then the mom said she would stop by the BBB and see us! It was so nice and totally made our day!
We had to go back to MK for my car and I was finally able to get home. I watched Hercules and waited for Brandon to get off work. When he did we met up and I met his new roommate, Ken, who is a creeper and a half. He is really awkward too. But we left and went to the Boardwalk to pick Alexis up. We had an hour to kill so we just walked around. It is so pretty down there! Alexis finally got off work and we went back to Patterson and they were going to make dinner, but once everyone got over there they realized they really didn't have that much food so everyone bailed.

2.22
Today Brandon and I went to Animal Kingdom around 11ish. Since he used to work Dinosaur, he knows people. We were able to get 3 fast passes to any ride, free ice cream, and VIP for the Finding Nemo show. We kicked off the morning at Expedition Everest, which I managed to keep my eyes open for the entire time. I still can't look at the Yeti though. He just freaks me out. Then we went on a safari. Thank god they don't do that bridge thing where they pretend the bridge is going to break anymore. Last time I came that scared the crap out of me. We got to see all sorts of animals. The hippos were even out of the water and one gator kind of attacked another one. It was crazy. I forgot how bouncy those cars are. It is a miracle more people don't fall out of those. Afterward, we took this train to Rafiki's Conservation area. It basically teaches people about conservation and there is a petting zoo there. There were also the cutest monkey's ever. They had white heads with a little orange part and were small and hopped around everywhere.
We then went and hit up Dinosaur, which I hadn't ridden since 1998 when the park first opened and Pam, Amber and I went while we were at the beach. This ride used to be called Count Down To Extinction., but Disney redid it after that Dinosaur movie came out. The picture of Pam, Amber and I on the ride last time is pretty hilarious. Amber and I are grabbing Pam like a really dinosaur is after us. I believe on of us gave her a bruise, while Pam is laughing through the whole thing. Well, the ride is just as scary and the loudest thing ever. I had to cover my ears most of the time and no wonder little kids come out crying. It is really scary. The picture of Brandon and I isn't much better. I am holding my ears and he has ridden it so many times he is posing. Afterward we went and got our free ice cream and walked around.
We made it back in time for the 3:15 showing of Finding Nemo the Musical. It was so good. It kind of like The Lion King, but they are more puppets then just cool costumes, but you don't really watch the people and eventually forget that they are there. It lasts about 45 minutes and is really cute.
We left Animal Kingdom after the show and headed back to Patterson. We made some mac and cheese and just hung out before Brandon had to go to work at 6. Then I went with Ebonee to try and find Mardi Gras masks for the FGIT Mardi Gras party. All the stores we found were closed because we forgot that it was Sunday. Whoops. We swung back by Patterson and picked up Jess and went to Moe's. It was delicious. We chatted for a while and then made our way back. It is an early night tonight because I have to be at work at 8 in the morning :(

It's The Time of Your Life

2.18

Today was probably one of the best days yet. First, it started out with me and Fifi watching High School Musical 3 before work. For those of you don't know, it came out on Tuesday. But I fianlly had to stop watching and go to work. Work was so much fun. I did the normal hair stuff, but I buddied a lot. I had a princess that was probably in her mid-forties with her 13 year old son as her knight in shinning armor. It was so cute. They were from Spain so they hardly spoke english. I was in charge of doing her make up, which is really scary when you have an adult princess because they know how to put on makeup haha. Then everything I did had to be approved by her son. It was so cute. I must say she had one of the best reactions when she got to see herself.
Ebonee and I finally were able to buddy. We had an 8 year old princess from New York. But before I could start on the Princess, I had to do a "cool dude" on her brother. A "cool dude" basically is where we take a bunch of different colors and streak the boys hair and then add a hidden mickey on the back of their heads. Then we add "pirate treasure," also known as mickey confetti, to the top of their heads. This little boy was autistic and the mom had to hold him when I did it. He liked it for about 2.5 seconds and then he started rubbing it off haha. He even cleaned his shoes off. The mom just laughed. Apparently, the year before he had gotten his face painted and loved it so they thought they would try this. Yeah...not so much.
The little girl was AWESOME! She actually talked to us when we asked questions. We asked her if she liked High School Musical and she did! We even got her and her mom to sing Breaking Free to us. So then of course Ebonee and I had to break into our I Want It All routine. I don't think some of the FGITs liked it because we were distracting their princesses. Well our manager saw our performance and liked it and decided that we need to make it a "magical moment." This means that if we ever have a lot of people waiting and we don't have princesses, Ebonee and I go and entertain the girls in the lobby with our act haha.
Right before closing, all of us new CPs learned how to do the princess wave and curtsey. These can also be used as magical moments or entertaining the princesses.
After work, I came back to the apartment and changed clothes. Then Lindsay, Kristy and I went over to Charlan's house and then made our way to Bdubs with Charlan and his roommate Ryan. Bart and Lindsey ended up showing up later. They left early and I rode back with them. We just hung out in Brian's apartment with his roommates. There was so minor drama towards the end of the night, but I think everything got resolved.

2.19
PAYDAY! Woo hoo! Brandon and I went and collected our paychecks. And then we promptly went out and spent them on lunch. Brandon took me to work, but we stopped at Company  D and Cast Connection. Basically, it is all the overstock items and "damaged" items or stuff people have lost on rides or left in hotel rooms. Umm so basically this place is amazing. I found this little basic full of camera batteries - so basically I was in heaven. I got another battery for my little camera and two for my big camera all for a whopping $3.50. Yeah that just saved me like $80. So that is super exciting. But then I had to go to work.
I was just not in the mood to do hair. It probably had to do with the monsoon we got hit with for an hour. So the girls would come in to get their hair done soaking yet. I was able to get by doing only 4 girls hair in the 6 hours I was there. I felt so terrible. I made this 9 year old, Abby, cry. Her mom had warned me she was really tender headed so I was trying to be gentle, but she had so much hair and I was trying to brush it up. All of the sudden the mom gets up and is like "sweetheart does that hurt?" and says yes and she had tears rolling down her cheeks! But she never said anything until her mom asked! But in the end she was happy.
It also seemed like everyone in there yesterday spoke a language other than english. I had a family Ecuador (Spanish), Canada (French), Brazil (Portuguese), and the poor American I made cry. So needless to say I got my foreign language lesson for the day. I know how to say "close your eyes princess" in 4 languages! woo hoo! I am sure that will come in handy down the road haha.
But since I was avoiding doing hair, I basically just did make up or played with the girls. We got to have trivia time for about 30 minutes, where we just sat on the floor and played Disney trivia. Then Stephanie got to teach "Princess School," where we taught the girls how to wave and curtsey and how to hold up their skirt when they walk. It was too cute. When I was teaching the wave, I saw a little girl who was celebrating her birthday. When princesses have birthdays we give their buttons to Tinkerbell and she puts pixie dust all over them. So Princess Courtney and her sister Brittney both had birthday buttons, so I had Tink fix them up. It turned out that both of their birthdays were in January, but they were celebrating them as a family now, in addition to the parents anniversary, because Courtney was having some sort of surgery and this was their last family vacation before that. So I of course then got them "I'm Celebrating" buttons (Disney is all about the buttons this year) and wrote that they were celebrating everything on them and of course Tink hooked them up to. I have never seen little girls so excited about buttons before. It was precious. Then to make the night even better I got an ER (early release) and got off 45 minutes early.
Brandon picked me up from cast parking and we went to the Polynesian resort. We staked out a spot on the swing on the beach there and waited for wishes to start. It was pretty cool. You see the castle across the lake and the night parade goes by. The only down side was that it was a little cold and you can't hear the music. But I have seen it so many times I was basically singing it in my head. Yes I know. I am a nerd.
Afterward, we picked up Alexis from work and we went back and changed and headed to Cowboy's for ladies night. My line dancing has not improved since the last time we went. The highlight was getting out there and doing the electric slide. Out of the group of 6, I was the only one who knew how to do it. I tried to teach Brandon, but it didn't work out so well.

Run Ins With Pumba

2.16

Monday I had to work from 2-8. I got to work really early because I had to go by costuming and get a new costume and turn the old ones in to be washed. We have the option of washing our own costumes, but I am a little scared to do that. But the trip to costuming did not take me nearly as long as I thought that it would, so I was left with a lot of time to kill before work. I ended up just reading in the mouseketeria for about 30 minutes.
I was finally able to clock in and headed to the boutique. I was a little nervous because this was going to be my first shift without Margarita there. Everything worked out though. All my princesses were so cute. I had one little princess who had the same birthday as me and she thought that that was just the coolest thing. I also had one princess who was 17. She was there on vacation with her family and her boyfriend. She had gorgeous hair though. Two people did have a run in with Pumba.* So that sucks but I am glad that it wasn't me!
This shift was also my first shift closing. It really wasn't bad. There was a family in there who now live outside of Knoxville, but used to live in Nashville and work in Franklin. I got roped into a conversation about Lady Vol Basketball. I had no idea what the guy was talking about so I just agreed with everything he said. I didn't have the heart to tell him I can't stand basketball haha.
*Pumba is the code word in the boutique for lice. If someone thinks they have found lice they ask a FGIT (Fairy God-Mother In Training) 'Have you seen the Lion King recently because I think I just saw Pumba.' Then that FGIT comes over and confirms that it is lice. Then we step away from the hair while the manager takes the parents in the back and explains the situation. We then have to replace everything in our cart, take the smock and our vest and put it into a hazardous waste bag and then clean everything like crazy. This is why they told us to keep and extra vest in our locker. If we don't have one we have to clock out and go to costuming and get another one.
After work, Stephanie and I changed clothes and ran up to catch Wishes! But before we could stake out our spot we caught the tail end of the Spectromagic parade. Of course we had to come up right as Peter Pan was in front of us. Stephanie and I both have a little bit of a crush on Peter Pan, Stephanie more then me. She started jumping up and down and waving and screaming PETER!! haha. Then she grabbed my hand and we ran from Main Street in front of the castle, over the bridge to Liberty Square and sat there and waited for Peter to walk by again. Then Stephanie then proceeded to start the whole jumping up and down, waving and screaming haha. It was pretty funny. We then went and sat in front of the castle and waited for Wishes!
I finally made it home and just chilled out for the rest of the night.
2.17
This morning I got up and made some tuna helper to take to work for dinner. Then I just cleaned up a little bit and killed time before work. I clocked in at 1 and began my shift.
My first princess, Elizabeth, was this little bilingual girl and really believed she was a princess. I must say though, her hair looked awesome. It was my best Disney Diva to date. She looked just like Belle. The next Princess was adorable. When I asked her which cheek she wanted her 'enchanted jewel' she pointed to both cheeks haha.
The next little girl was precious. She had downs and did such a good job! She looked great with her little fairy tale bun! Then I had 4 year old identical twin snow whites! SO CUTE! I also had a 10 year old from Oklahoma who loved Tinkerbell. I gave her all the scoop on Hollywood Studios and where to sit for Wishes!
So then I had my first kind of run in with bitchy parents. I just did this little girls make-up and Stephanie was doing her hair. The whole time the grandmother was saying how Stephanie was doing it all wrong. When Stephanie finished, I thought it looked great! But the grandmother said it looked terrible and called a manager. She then had someone take down the hair and start all over again. Poor Stephanie was so upset. The manager pulled her aside and said not to worry about that they just couldn't be satisfied. I still felt bad for Stephanie.
The last Princess of the day was named Emily and loved Aurora, not sleeping beauty haha. She was there with three of her cousins and aunts and uncles and they were having a family reunion. It kind of reminded me of the beach. She had uncles running around with cameras taking pictures and then her aunts were running around trying to figure out how to do the different hair styles. It was a good way to end the day. I also got to collect my first Rose Petals!! (tips)
After work I cam home and just hung out for a bit and then Brandon and I drove down to City Walk at Universal. It was really pretty at night with all the lights. Then we ran to Wal-Mart. Then I got home and was a fat kid and then went to bed!

Boot Scootin' Boogie

2/12

Thursday I had to pass my final test at the BBB. Basically, I was on my own as far as hairstyling goes, but if I needed help Margarita was there to jump in. I had no major catastrophes, but I did have one little girl who I think her mom never brushed her hair. She had a knot on the back of her head that had to be the size of my fist. It was pretty much awful. It took both Margarita and I probably 15 and a whole bottle of detangler to get all the knots out of this kids head. It was disgusting. I also a run in with the manager who said I was doing something wrong when I wasn't so that was a little nervous making. But in the end everything worked out. Thursday was also payday! woo hoo! Not that my check was worth anything, but hey.

Thursday night I went out with Brandon and a bunch of his friends to the Disney Boardwalk. We went to a piano bar called Jellyrollz. It was really fun. I had never really been to a place like that before. The real entertainment began when we had to cram 7 people into Brandon's car. Brandon and his roommate were in the front seat, while 4 girls and 1 guy crammed into the back seat. It was definitely interesting. Luckily, it was a short drive and we all made it back safe.

2/13
Friday I had the day off!! I did absolutely nothing and it was fantastic! I bummed around all morning and then headed to MK to walk around a little bit. I got to see the new Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Block Party and it was awesome. I am so in love with it. Everyone gets out into the streets and dances with all the characters. So Fun!

Friday night Brian, Corey and I all went to Bdubs for $10 all you can drink. It was an interesting night. Corey met a couple of his friends there and then we were joined by a creeper named Harvey who worked at Universal Studios and had a flaming wallet. Literally. It had a hidden lighter in it and when he opened it, it would catch on fire. Yeah this guy pops up and opens his wallet and just this bright flash and feel this heat next to me. It was a little scary. Our waiter saw it and thought it was amazing and had him pull a prank on the manager, who also thought it was funny and ended giving him a free shot. Flaming wallet or not the kid was a creeper. It was also interesting because Corey's friend, whose name I can't remember has decided that Brian and I are getting married in 5 years and she is going to be our flower girl, even though she will be in her late 30's (when I told this to the roomies they all jumped in and wanted to be bridesmaids haha thanks guys). Anyways.

2/14
I hate Valentine's Day with a firey passions. It is probably the worst holiday ever. Plus I also had the day off so I had no distractions. I continued to bum around. Kristy called me and needed a ride to work so Brandon and I took her. Then after we dropped her off we went exploring in Orlando. He took me to where the College Program all began. It is in this sketchy part of town and is basically this field that Disney just through some trailers in and told people to live there. It is called Snow White's Village off 7 Dwarfs Lane. It was the shadiest thing ever. Then we went down and explored Old Town and went to the Fun Spot, which is where Abbey and I did the sling shot during spring break sophomore year of high school. The place has really built up since then. Then we stopped by the Gaylord Hotel and watched the live gators in the lobby. That place is pretty cool. It is so big!

Later that night, Brandon, Alexis, Danielle, Ashley and I all went to Cowboy's. It was a blast. I have never seen line dancing like that. (Apparently, it is just like Silverados, but I have never been there so don't quote me on that). I got some of the dances, but most of the time I just looked lost. But at least I tried! Saturdays are free long necks until 1 and Thursday is Ladies Night so I will have to go back.

2/15
This morning Kristy and I got up and met her friend who was down from Nashville and went to UCF to watch UT play Villinova in softball. Two of her old teammates play for UT and one is her bestie so we went. UT ended up winning 9-4. The team is not allowed to see people after the game unless they win, but even then we had to drive to the back of the stadium and wait until after they showered and then they only had like 5 minutes to visit with their families. Kind of harsh if you ask me. I totally felt like a groupie because we were totally stalking the team trying to figure out where they were. We grabbed lunch at Jimmy Johns and then dropped Kristy's friend off at the airport. We are now back safely at the apartment and trying to decide what to do tonight. Everyone is working but I am off. I think I might go to the parks with Ebonee, a friend from the BBB who goes to MTSU. So who knows!

A Knight In Shinning Armor

Yesterday began with me being at work at 8am. Super exciting I know. But work was kind of boring and really frustrating. I was stuck in the management office underneath Magic Kingdom doing hairstyles on some mannequin heads. I even got to take one home with me. Her name was Gabriella. Woo hoo.

The boutique consists of three hairstyles. The Fairy Tale Princess, which is a high bun with a small tiara, The Disney Diva, which is basically lots of teasing and hair extensions, and The Pop Princess, which has four twists in the front of the hair and then add the hair extensions and teasing. The lost two I have down pretty well. But if I get a Princess with long thick hair I am screwed. I even tried practicing on Jess and that really didn't go over well.
Anyway, I am stuck underground with my trainer, Margarita, and my fellow trainee Stephanie who is beginning to drive me crazy. She never seems to stop talking. Luckily, yesterday was a short day and we were done at 2. So I made a quick costume change and went out into the park. This was the first time I have gone straight from work into the park and had to use a different door than the boutique to get in. I found an elevator rode it up, walked past some machinery and through the heaviest wooden door ever and BOOM I was on Cinderella's Castle by the real wishing well and the smoking section. I am sure people thought I was crazy because I kind of busted out of there like a mad woman.
I had some time to kill until Kristy got off work and the afternoon parade so I did some shopping on Main Street and then camped out a spot for the parade. I spotted Brandon who was working PAC and got a kick out him jumping rope with all the little girls, while waiting on the parade to start. The parade was awesome. Like anything Disney does could be bad...
Kristy got off work and we ended up meeting up with Brian and Bart (or Bertie as Fifi calls him - she thought his name was Bert! haha) at Space Mountain. We grabbed fast passes and then jumped on again. Then we were off to the Monster's Inc Laugh Floor. It was hilarious. My stomach was hurting at the end of it. They interact with the audience so it is a different show every time. Then we jumped on Buzz Lightyear. I got my high score of 164,000. I have no idea how I did that. I just know that something I hit gave me 100,000 points. When we were walking out we saw Buzz and decided to wait in line to take a picture with him. That was pretty entertaining.
Kristy and I went and grabbed some food and say hello to Lindsay at work, while the boys went and rode the tea cups. Then we walked down and rode pirates. I was a little worried we were going to sink because all four of us were in the front row and there was no one else in the boat. The one little hill down almost ended badly haha. But then we had to go stakeout our spot for WISHES!! which was amazing as usual.
We found out that Jess had gotten disqualified from both Minnie and Mickey so we tried to cheer her up a bit. But then Brian and I made a quick run to Publix and I made some spaghetti. Then I had to hit the hay because I was exhausted.
Just a quick note on the BBB. We call out lunch breaks "taking a tea." using the bathroom "visiting the wishing well," and going home "going to feed the horses." I thought that was pretty interesting. I also learned that if we ever encounter a little girl with lice, we have to reference the Lion King in some way. Pumba is what we call lice. I thought that was pretty interesting.
Today I had to be at work at 7:30 so that sucked. we learned how to do the Pop Princess and then went up to the BBB and did make up and nails on little girls. It made the day go by really quickly. Then I met up with Brian and Bart back at Patterson and then we headed back to Hollywood Studios. We rode Rockin' Roller Coaster so many times! Brian and I got some sweet pictures including me punching him in the face and another giving a high five. We even got to ride it basically twice in a row because we went one time and didn't have any Aerosmith to rock out to so the ride totally wasn't the same. We jumped between Rockin' and Tower of Terror. We have decided that the left is the way to go. You get a better ride. So then we decided to see how much hang time we could get so we hid slack in our seat belts. But you only really get one good drop because then your seat belt snaps back.
While standing in line, we met a nice woman who had to ride by herself because her husband was afraid. She ended up giving us fast passes for Toy Story. Yay!
We met up with Bart's friend Lindsay, not my roommate, and went to Toy Story. It was so much fun! Sadly, I lost to Brian, but I beat him in accuracy. So I call it a tie.
We had thought that Fantasmic was that night, but it wasn't so we headed over to Epcot to watch Illuminations at 9. We got there early and were going to ride Soarin' and/or Test Track, but they had a 90 minute wait. :( So as we were walking away from Test Track this family blows past us and is like you want fast passes for Test Track and of course we did! We again made friends while waiting in line. We gave them the low down on Magic Kingdom and then the grandmother and I started talking hockey. Apparently her husband had coached a ton of famous NHL players as well as the coaches for the Panthers and Hurricanes. So that was pretty cool. Test Track, for those of you who don't know, is the fastest ride going 64 miles per hour. It basically takes you through some tests that cars apparently go through before we as consumers get them. It was fun - except for the part where I thought we were going to get hit by a truck. I screamed so loud my throat hurt and my entire car laughed at me....good times.
We finally staked out a place in the US to watch the Illuminations after riding this sweet boat ride in Norway. When you combine trolls, sweet accents and going backwards down waterfalls you can't go wrong.
Illuminations was pretty interesting. The globe was the best part. That and watching everyone around us jump when a firework launched right in front of us. The fireworks were a lot louder than Wishes. I guess because the sound echoes off of the water.
By this point we are all starving and don't want to pay Disney prices. So we starved ourselves until after the show and then drove straight to Cici's pizza. We got there 15 minutes before it closed. We probably ate enough pizza to feed 12 people rather than just us 4. But is was so delicious. We definitely were all fat kids.

2/11
Today I slightly got to sleep in and had to be at work at 9:30. Woo Hoo! I actually got to do little girls hair today. The first little girl I got was a Disney Diva, which luckily was one that I was comfortable with. But I did have one little girl who wanted a Fairy Tale who would not stop crying, had sprinkles in her hair, said everything hurt and eventually Stephanie and I distracted her enough with the Pixie Dust so that Margarita could finish the hair I started. But on a brighter note, I had 2 (count 'em 2!) Pixie Dust moments today. Pixie Dust moments can best be described as the moments where you really feel the magic of Disney and everything it stands for. Example: Krity's pixie dust moment was when she saw the castle for the first time at the beginning of this adventure.

Pixie Dust Moment #1
Ayia, a little girl from England and the second girl I did, was absolutely amazing. She picked the Pop Princess, which is my favorite hairstyle because that is my best one. So I did her hair up in the 4 twists and added the hair extensions and I must say it looked great. Then the magic happened. Once I spun her around in that chair and she opened her eyes her jaw dropped and her mom burst into tears. This, in turn, made me tear up. It was just such a special moment. It is hard to describe in words.

Pixie Dust Moment #2
Erika, a little 4 year old who stole my heart, is obsessed with Ariel and wanted to be just like her. She told me she even brushes her hair with a fork haha. Anyway, I was in charge of her make up while Stephanie did her hair. When I was done, I was killing time by just chatting with her. I asked her what she was going to do once she was made into a princess - whether she was going to ride rides or go look for her knight in shinning armor. That was when she lifted her hand and pointed to her dad and "No, Daddy's my Knight in shinning armor." It took everything in me to not burst into tears right then and there. Oh man that Dad light up when that little girl said that. It was probably the sweetest thing I have ever seen. This little girl was just adorable. After she made everyone around us cry, she and I played I Spy for the remainder of the time. It all ended with me getting a big hug and it was one of the best hugs ever.

After work I just walked around the park people watching. I could spend all day on a bench and just watching people. People at Disney are just so happy and excited. Well, for the most part anyway. I stayed and watched Wishes and did some shopping and then just headed home. Every time I leave to go home I seem to find a new way out. The downside is that all of them tend to take a while. Hopefully, I will find a shorter route.

Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust

Wednesday 2/4

Today was Traditions. We all had to be at the bus stop at 6:55. So it was a way early morning. We made it to Disney University (which is located behind MK). We first gathered into the big cafeteria and waited to be divided up into our groups. So after we were finished making fun of this really grouchy boy (who ended up being in my group) who was mean mugging every one in the room, all of us were separated with the exception of me and Kristy. In Traditions, we just learned about the values of the Disney Company. We also played the how many disney characters can you name in 2 minutes game. I won my table some "critters" or basically just small disney characters. So I am still undefeated in that game haha. We won with 39. We got out of Traditions around noon and went back to the apartment to change. Then we all went to Magic Kingdom to play because we were officially cast members after Traditions so we get in free. Kristy had only been to MK when she was 4 and didn't really remember it. So I videotaped her seeing the castle for the first time. She screamed and almost started crying. It was precious.
We ended up riding Space Mountain, and The Haunted Mansion and then just walking around. We stayed for WISHES, the fireworks behind the castle, at 8. We were right in the front and it was fantastic. I got goosebumps so many times. And then Tink flew out of the castle and the fireworks were with the music and it was just incredible. Afterward, I tried to teach Lindsay how to Waltz in front of the castle to the music. But if you ask her, I was waltzing and she was stepping on my toes. haha Then we were walking down Main Street and got distracted in the shops. We ended up finding these charm bracelets and we decided to buy them and then if ever someone was having a bad day or we wanted to be nice we could buy each other a charm. Just a little small roommate bonding.
We didn't realize it was getting so late and thought we had missed the last monorail back to the TTC, but luckily we didn't. While waiting for the monorail, Matt showed up in a Peter Pan hat with his name embroidered on the back. We have been working on his crow for when he and Peter are friends and got him to do it on the platform. People thought we were crazy, but it was really funny.
So Disney has this bus system for Cast Members that has good intentions, but is quite annoying. You have to the catch the bus a hour before you have to be at work even though where you were is only 20 minutes away. So it is rather annoying, but anyway. We ended up waiting on a bus in the freezing cold for about 45 minutes. Then there was only standing room so we (Kristy) took the opportunity to put our butts in peoples faces and then quote Dumb and Dumber with Bart and Nick.

Thursday 2/5
Today I had the day off. Lindsay, Matt, Jess and I all went to Hollywood Studios. We mainly just walked around. We were waiting on Kristy to get off work to ride the big rides like Tower of Terror and Rockin' Roller Coaster. We walked around and tried to figure out what we wanted to do. We eventually camped out a spot to watch the new High School Musical 3 show.  It was pretty good. But the best part was when Matt got pulled out to participate in the show. He got a top hat and cain and did some sweet high kicks (check out the video on Facebook). I laughed so hard I cried. Then we had a little play date on the giant ant in the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids playground - or also known as the place where Mom took advantage of my trust, but she would rather think of it as me having a fantastic imagination*

*Side note for those who don't know the story. Last time Mom and I were at Disney and this movie had just come out, I wanted to go play. Well, Mom told me that after I went through the gates, I would actually shrink.....and I believed her. I was freaking out on the inside because I was afraid that I wasn't going to get back to normal height and that I was going to get eaten in a bowl of Cheerios. But luckily, I survived.

So after being kids again, we decided to give the new Toy Story ride a try, which was supposed to be awesome. When we got there, the wait line was huge and there were no more fast passes available. So we just started talking to the other cast members and said that we were brand new CP's and the nice guy named Joey escorted us to the front of the line. And the ride was AMAZING! You wore 3-D glasses and you shot things - it is kind of like Buzz Lightyear but a million and half times better. Then we went and rode the movie ride, which was a lot less scary than I remember, but still freaked out the little girl in front of us (thank you Alien).

Finally, Kristy, Brian, Laura, and Corey met up with us. We went straight to the Tower of Terror. Kristy, Brian and I had never rode it before so we were a little bit nervous. It did not help that we saw a family of rats in the bushes while waiting in line. For those of you who have not rode it, they start by taking you in this room and showing you a video of the Twilight Zone. Then it ends with this huge clap of thunder. Well, Lindsay and Matt have come here so often they know all the tricks. Matt screamed right on cue - I thought it was supposed to happen and then Kristy screamed because she was scared. The ride was awesome. Our group of 7 took up the front row. Matt screamed the whole time and Kristy and I screamed and laughed. By the end of it, I had tears rolling down my face I was laughing so hard at Matt. The people in there probably thought we were crazy. Our picture was priceless though, which is why I bought one.

We then headed to the Rockin' Roller Coaster, which is indoors and blasts Aerosmith. After some more sweet talking and saying we were CP's we were able to get through with the fast passes. We all rocked it out for the picture, which I also bought. Then after walking around some more, we decided to go over to MK and watch WISHES!! and the Spectromagic Parade. We were able to catch a ride on the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad before hand. Everything was awesome as usual. But it was absolutely freezing outside.

Friday 2/6
Today I had to get up and be at Disney University at the butt crack of dawn. Lindsay and I were in the same class so we hung out. We ended up getting a tour of the park around 8am so we were in before the crowds and it was weird seeing Main Street deserted, but the castle was really pretty because the sun was still rising. We learned some interesting tidbits about the park and what to do and don't do. The detail Disney puts into everything is incredible. You might think things are the way they are out of chance, but no. Everything at Disney is done on purpose. They have thought of things that I would have never even dreamed of being an issue. Not like this is an issue, but an example is that where the first aid station is there are red and white umbrellas because the international symbol for first aid is the red and white cross. No where else in the park will you find red and white umbrellas. Oh, and the area (by Casey's Corner on Main Street) just happens to be sponsored by Coke. We walked around and toured the whole park. They even let us ride Buzz Lightyear, which I did much better on than the first time when I rode it with Dad, and the Haunted Mansion. We exited Haunted Mansion the cast member way and then started the back stage tour. It is the weirdest experience. But then we got to go into the utilidor, or the "tunnels" underneath MK. But they are not really tunnels. Tunnels are underground and you can't really do that in Florida. What you walk on while in MK is actually the 2nd story. So the "tunnels" are just the first floor.

We got shown where the Disney Learning Center is, where we eat lunch (called the Mousekateria haha), and all sorts of other fun stuff. Then we got split off into our individual roles and placed with a trainer. All the BBB girls went together and had to do 3 1/2 hours of pointless computer slideshows about safety and hazardous chemicals. But before that we got to go to costuming! We finally got our costumes and I surprisingly like mine. I feel like I should be going to a Renaissance Festival. I wear a long lavender skirt and then a puffy, silky, pale pink shirt with a dark purple vest thing over it. I make it sound a lot worse than it really is, but I definitely have one of the better costumes. We were finally free to go around 4.

We all got together and went back to Hollywood studios to watch Fantasmic, which was fantastic! The things Disney creates are simply amazing. There really are no words to describe it. You just have to experience it. I was crying by the end of it. By the time the show was over we were all starving and decided to go to Down Town Disney for dinner. We tried to find a place that wasn't overpriced and eventually settled on Planet Hollywood. Things got interesting from there. Multiple, multiple drinks were ordered. I ended up driving Lindsay's car home. It was so fun though. It was like a big welcoming party. We ate and laughed and drank and had a blast.

Saturday 2/7

I got up and went with Brandon to take his roommate to work at Animal Kingdom. We ended up just running into the park and getting a fast pass and riding Expedition Everest. It was pretty cool. You go backward and forward and the whole thing is pretty crazy, but way fun. Then I came back and chilled out. Lindsay and I eventually went to DSW and the mall to find shoes for work and buy pantyhose which we unfortunately have to wear to work everyday. When we were finished we ran buy Publix and bought some groceries.

A little while after we got back we all decided to head down to Mickey's Retreat and play a little bit of sand volleyball. Before the game could even get started, Nick decided to do a bicycle kick and when he did he landed wrong and broke his collarbone. So then we had an unplanned trip to the hospital. He should be fine, but he has to go back on Monday and make sure that he doesn't have to have surgery. So after that exciting adventure, I came back to the apartment and cooked food for the week and then headed to bed.

Sunday 2/8

Today and I got and was at the bus stop by 7 so I could be at work by 8. Me and Stephanie met our trainer, Margarita, who is from Puerto Rico. She showed us where we clock in and then got us set up on the Hub and printed out our schedules for next week ( I am off Friday, Saturday and Sunday! Woo Hoo!) Then we were shown where we enter to get to the BBB from the utilidor, which consists of going up about 3984732 steps. Then we have to make sure we always go right and get to the BBB because if we don't we will end up on the castle stage.

We were taught the ends and outs of the BBB today. While we didn't actually work on any girls, we did everything but. We learned how to build castles (their outfits if they purchased the Castle package), how to do an outfit reveal, work the check in system and how to escort the princesses to their chairs. It was so much fun. I worked 10 hours and I felt like was only there for about 3. The little girls are precious. Granted, sometimes they get a little fussy, but most of them are so excited to be there they can't stand it. Another lesson learned today is that Pixie Dust gets EVERYWHERE!! I didn't have to mess with it today and came home with it all in my hair and on my clothes, but I guess there are worse things. I am excited because tomorrow we will get to start learning the hairdos and practicing on mannequins. I got off work at 6:30 and came back to the apartment. I really wanted to go to the House of Blues, but I just collapsed in my bed. My feet hurt so bad and I am wiped out. Plus, I have to be at work at 8 in the morning again. So its a shower and then bed!

Forgotten Adventures

I forgot to mention one of the other many adventures today. The first being that Jess and I started to set up the router. We for sure thought that it was going to be super difficult because I didn't set it up in BG (thanks Jenny). But we soon found out that all you had to do was plug it in...go figure. Then when we moved in yesterday we realized that we had no pots and pans. Kristy's mom found an inventory sheet and it turned out we were missing a lot more than that. We didn't have a tea pot, cereal bowls, cookie sheet, spatula, and like 8 other things. So when Jess tried for the second time to get her parking decal (the first failed attempt was this morning when she didn't have the right registration), I handed in the list thinking it would be a week until we got anything. Turns out he gave everything to us right then. We carried two mail crate things worth of kitchen stuff back to the apartment. When we took the bins back, Jess had her third attempt, which also failed. They were out of parking decals and he told her to come back later. (When she came back later they were closed and she went to security who then told her to come back later as well. Today was not a good day for Jess and parking decals. I, however, was able to get one).

It is crazy to think that I only met these people yesterday. I feel like I have known them so much longer. And it feels like we have been here about a month. 10201 is probably the best apartment ever....just in case you didn't already realize that! haha

Yes I Really Can Make All Your Dreams Come True

It has been a crazy few days!!

Brian and I left Bob's at 7am yesterday (oh my gosh that was only yesterday) and got to Vista Way around 7:45 after paying another billion in tolls and dealing with traffic. They wouldn't let anyone into the complex until 8 so we chilled in the parking lot across the street. While I was standing next to Brian's car, another girl came up and said "you look normal. let's be roommates." So that girl was Kristy, the first of my 5 roommates. She is from Madison, Tennessee and played softball at Goodpasture. Go Figure. She saw that I was from Nashville because I was wearing a Preds hoodie. So once we were able to get into the complex all three of us kept together. Kristy had meet another girl named Lindsay and her brother Matt, who are from central Louisiana. It worked out that all three of us girls were able to room together. We got our room in Patterson Court, which is the newest and nicest and strangely the cheapest of all the complexes. The last step of the check in process was getting out parking decals. But Disney has this stupid rule where YOUR name has to be on the insurance card - not your parents. So I had to call dad and have him call the insurance company so they could fax proof that I am an insured driver. In other words, it was stupid.

Kristy, her parents and I then made our way our apartment and made first claims on the beds. Then we realized that we had totally skipped a step and had to go back and have our background checks and be fingerprinted. So we left her parents to unpack her room and tried to find this place and ended going to the wrong area, but it was an adventure and we finally made it. Mom was a little nervous about my background check haha. But don't worry we both cleared. Brian was behind us in line and we chatted for a bit before heading back to our apartment. Oh, Brian is in the same building as us (building 10 at Patterson). I have yet to decide if that is going to be a good thing or a bad thing.

When we were back at the apartment, they helped me unload my car and the somewhat get things situated. We were mainly waiting for our 3 other roommates to show up. Then I got a call from Brian saying that he met one of our roommates in line named Jess! She is from Woodstock, Georgia and is fabulous. Really the day was filled with waiting and unpacking.
A few hours later, our fourth roommate showed up and her name is Angelica (yes, like from Rugrats) and is from Puerto Rico. All I could think about was Ramos. Her english is not as nearly as good as his, but she is so cute and trying to learn. It turns out she is 28 and is married and has 2 children and is here to help her family. She came here knowing hardly any english and just after a day I can already see a difference. She is just precious. She is also trying to teach us spanish, but that is not going so well. Especially with all of our southern accents.

By this point we are STARVING! We went to Subway and met some other CP kids that were character performers and lived in our building. They were pretty cool, but we eventually had to get on our way. We finally made our way to the dreaded Wal-Mart. It was a madhouse. Imagine the Wal-Mart in BG on Christmas Eve and multiply that by 3 and that equals the hell we were in. We had about 4 carts worth of stuff. Lindsay, Matt and I cheated and checked out through the Garden Center so it did not take us too long. But poor Kristy and Brian had to wait 45 minutes to check out!! Absolutely ridiculous.  But we made it back and continued to unpack.

Brandon came over later and we went to the Ale House to meet some of his friends and watch the St. Louis/Detroit game. We came back and just hung out the rest of the night.

This morning we had to be at Vista at 8:30 to fill out our I-9 forms and get our roles. I was put into a separate line and then asked if I did hair and make-up. The question caught me really off guard, but I just said that I had in the past. Then this woman asked me to follow her and she took me to talk to this other guy. It was really nerve wracking because I was escorted to the front of the line and I kept getting menacing looks from all the people in line. That is when this guy told me that I was going to be a Fairy Godmother at the Bibbi Bobbidi Boutique! My role is to turn little girls into freaking PRINCESSES!! How freaking cool is that? The rest of the time spent there was waiting in line and trying to figure what was going on. Since me and another girl, named Sam, got moved we had to wait in another line to get our training moved around. But, then paperwork got mixed up and we were sent on a wild goose chase for a non-existent piece of paper. But anywho here are how the jobs go for the rest of the apartment
and friends

Kristy - Magic Kingdom in Mickey's Toon Town
Lindsay - Magic Kingdom in Fantasy Land at  food stand thing (the only place in the park that serves pizza)
Jess - A "Friend" of Mickey and Minnie Mouse
Angelica - Key West Resort Housekeeping
Refilwe "Fifi" Maimare - Animal Kingdom Lodge**
Matt - A "Friend" of Peter Pan
Brian - Hollywood Studios Merchandising

** I forgot that Fifi came in late late last night. She is from South Africa and has the coolest accent ever. She has been living in Ohio as an au pair for a family.

So it is pretty exciting that we all know what we are doing now. We all have Traditions tomorrow, which is like the orientation class and when we officially become Cast Members and we finally get our free entrance to the parks. Kristy, Lindsay, and I all have the early class (We have to be at the bus stop at 6:55am in business attire....blah) but on the plus side we get to play in the parks for the rest of the day. I am so excited that I finally get to see Wishes! (the fireworks at Cinderella's Castle and Tinkerbell flies over the castle!!)

Everything is going great so far! I could not have gotten a better group of people in the apartment! They are just fantastic and so much fun. This whole program seems like it is going to be great. Let's hope I still say that when I am dealing with bitching parents at the Boutique. But I am sure for every one bad experience I am sure that there will be 5 good ones to make up for it.

Finally Here!

Brian and I left Atlanta this morning after eating some scrumptious panqueques prepared by Aunt Anne. I was able to go jump on Elizabeth and get her out of bed with the promise of panqueques, which I sang to her in a lovely song. Then we packed up our stuff and hit the road, but not before it took me about 3 tries to back out of the drive way. It looks straight, but really its not and most people know that I am not the best driver when it comes to driving in reverse.

The drive was not all that exciting. Bon Qui Qui said it would be 6 hours to get to Bob's. We ended up making it in about 7 when you add in all the stops and such. The only down side to the drive is the 8 billion tolls on Florida roads. But we made it to Bob's and watched the Super Bowl. Then we just hung out for a little while.

Tomorrow is check in and I am a little nervous. We are getting there pretty early in hopes that we will get our first choice in housing. We shall see!

Lebanon to Knoxville To Atlanta

Brian and I finally began our adventure to Florida!!

Our adventure began Friday when we packed up and left Mom’s house a little later than expected and made out way to Knoxville. Yes, I know Knoxville. While I can’t stand the school there, I pretty much love one of the students there…the amazing Sarah Craig. We pulled into Knoxville around 6ish and Sarah showed us to her dorm room. Brian and I were amazed that we could basically just walk in without having to show ID or give our IDs up, but then you did have swipe your ID to get an elevator, which I though was pretty nifty (and see Mom they are safe). And speaking of dorms, WKU should definitely invest in the same type of moveable furniture that UT has. Granted the beds are a little high, as I am sure Sarah can attest to, but the way you can set up the room is really neat and the desks are pretty much awesome compared to the crappy things you get in WKU’s dorms. Anyway, after sitting around and catching up, which took a while, we decided to sit around and talk about what we should do for dinner, which took equally as long as catching up because of our lovely tangents. Finally around 9, we decided to head to the Tomato Head for dinner. It was delicious.

We headed back to the dorm to figure out our plan for the rest of the night. While figuring out what to do, Sarah decided to make me her personal Barbie Doll and do my hair and make-up. I must say I looked fabulous, but I don’t think I have ever spent that much time on getting ready – what can I say I guess I didn’t really inherit the hair and make-up gene or at least not to the extent of most girls. As far as outfits go Sarah and I looked great in our almost the same Forever 21 sweater dresses and Sarah thanks for letting me borrow those awesome black boots! We braved the cold and headed to the strip.

We started out and this place called RT’s. Sarah had friends at the place across the street called Hannah’s, but after standing in line for 10 minutes and freezing, we decided we would not get frostbite and go back to RTs. We went upstairs and it was just a big dance party. So we danced the night away! I am pretty sure the highlight of the night was the strob light when a guy randomly appeared next to Sarah haha and we managed to avoid the creepers (except maybe Mohawk guy) and also on the plus side Brian found a half dollar while doing the Cupid shuffle on stage. Woo Hoo!! By the time we left we were burning up so the outside actually felt good. Sadly, some stupid person stole Sarah’s coat while she was in the bathroom and she better watch out because if Sarah finds her she is going to get a beat down. Exhausted we made our way back to the dorm and fell asleep around 3:30.

We woke up the next morning around 12:30. I jumped in the shower because you know unlike most people I don’t love that ashtray smell (thank you smokers!). We got our stuff and went to Panera for some breakfast/lunch. Then we said goodbye to Sarah and began our journey to Atlanta.

We made it to Atlanta around 5:30. Surprisingly, the drive from Knoxville to Atlanta is not nearly as long as you would think. When we made it to the McGlamry’s, we caught up with Uncle Mike while waiting for Aunt Anne to get home from Elizabeth’s mock trial scrimmage. Elizabeth went out to dinner with her mock trial team, so Brian, Aunt Anne, Uncle Mike, and I went to a restaurant, I can’t think of the name now – atkins park or something. It was delicious. Some of the best chicken and dumplings I have ever had (but don’t worry Jenny Granny’s were still better but they were really really close).

When we got back from dinner, Elizabeth was home and we hung out watching the Bourne Supremacy and chatting. Then we decided to rock out to Rockband. We played a couple songs and then decided to hit the hay.
